As always in this podcast I aim to provide you with information you may not have heard before and solutions to the menopause challenges we all experience, in this case, the dreaded meno-belly.
In this episode we delve into that unexplained weight gain that feels impossible to lose and why what used to work is working no longer. Most of us don't understand the role that hormones play in this and that it's not just about the reproductive hormones, but also thyroid, cortisol, insulin, ghrelin, leptin and melatonin. We'll talk about inflammation, what causes it and the effects of it and the culture of diet and which is to eat less and exercise more but is that creating more stress and more fat?
My goal at the end of this podcast is to leave you feeling you have a solution that has you:
- Thinking differently and rather than dieting, has you focusing on nourishing your body and feeling good about yourself.
- Rather than aiming to lose weight, focus on what you want to gain. Reframe your thinking as what you focus on grows.
- Reduce your cortisol levels by looking at areas of your life that may be causing you stress and you need to let go of.
- Has you eating more nutritious foods and avoiding processed foods.
- Drinking more water and avoiding alcohol as alcohol stops fat burning.
- Getting better sleep.
- Moving more (or maybe even less if that is what your body needs).
- Taking a personal approach to your health rather than a one size fits all.
