Let’s talk about To Do lists. Do you have one? If not, why not? To Do lists are a way of keeping you on track, to make sure that you are moving towards your goals. But this blog isn’t about telling you how great To Do lists are (which they are), it is about what you put on your To Do list.
Every day I have a list of tasks that I have to get finished by the end of the day and if they don’t get finished I move them over to the next day or later in the week. To Do lists do keep me focussed but I have noticed that there is something missing from my To Do List.
Everything that is on my list is something that I have to do for my business, my family, my clients but there is nothing on my list for me. I spend all day doing things for other people but I don’t dedicate much time to myself. Now don’t get me wrong, I do things like going to gym etc. but it isn’t on my To Do list. It’s almost like doing things for me are not as important as doing things for other people so I don’t put it on my list. I will fit things for me around everything else I have to do. Do you do this or do you plan your Me Time into your day and write it on your list?
Having time for you is important, it is definitely important enough to go on your To Do list. In fact it should be the highest priority task on your To Do list every day, it gets done no matter what.
