RECIPE: Date Brownies

These are gluten free and sugar free but still pack a flavoursome punch! Yum.

Date Brownies

200gm dark chocolate or cacao wafers
200gm pitted dates
1/2 tspn baking powder
55gm coconut oil
3 eggs
1tsp vanilla paste




  1. Preheat over to 160degC
  2. Add chocolate and baking powder to food processor bowl, grate for 5 seconds (speed 8)
  3. Add dates to bowl and mix for 5 seconds (speed 6)
  4. Add eggs, vanilla and oil and mix for 20 seconds (speed 7).  Check consistency and repeat if necessary
  5. Pour into lined square pan and bake for 15-20 minutes or until set.  Don’t overco
  6. Ok, it should be soft in the middle
  7. Allow to cool, dust with icing sugar.  Keep in fridge (if it lasts that long)
