Stress Free Living Tip of the Day

Sometimes we can be so focussed on achieving a goal that we can get stressed and overwhelmed in process.   While we are trying to achieve that goal that we can miss out on the moments that happen along the way.  When you become so goal driven you can forget about the fun of playing the game, this can be a key driver of stress.

I made this video while I was at the beach and I saw two little boys just playing in the moment, without a care in the world.  It made me wonder when we adults forgot about the experience of being in the moment.

If you find yourself feeling stressed, why not step outside and take a big deep breath.  Notice the air around you, feel the air filling your lungs.  Stretch your arms up to the sky and notice how tight your muscles are, feel them stretch out and let go.  Take another breath and notice everything around you, take it all in – the noises, the smells, what you can see, what you can touch.  Use every sense. Now if you wish you can go back to your work, your stress levels will have reduced with taking a quick 5 minutes out of your day.

Every moment is important because it only happens once and then it is gone.  You can never get a missed moment back so make sure that you aren’t working too hard that you lose too many moments.
